Windows 10 & 11 / public beta 0.1.1

Your next words, on your PC.

Foretype offers a suggestion where you write. The model runs on your Windows computer, and Tab puts the next word into your text.

Windows 10 22H2 or 11 on x64 Windows 11 on ARM64 local inference

Download

Choose your processor.

Check Settings → System → About → System type on your PC. Choose x64 for an Intel or AMD processor; choose ARM64 for Snapdragon.

This beta is unsigned.

Windows may show an unknown publisher warning. Download only from dl.foretype.app and compare the SHA-256 checksum below before running it. The Mac release is signed; Windows publisher signing is still in progress.

First run

Install once. Write locally.

  1. Download the matching installer. The x64 installer is for Intel/AMD; the ARM64 installer is for Snapdragon.
  2. Choose a model in Foretype. Compact needs about 3.8 GB of download and at least 8 GB RAM. Balanced needs more room and at least 16 GB RAM.
  3. Type in a supported editor. Ghost text appears beside the caret; Tab accepts the next word. You can pause Foretype per app.

Beta status

What to expect.

Installed Windows 11 checks have covered Notepad, browser text fields, local model loading, inline completion, corrections, emoji, and basic licensing. A physical ARM64 laptop passed real-model writing and the 200% display UI check. Windows 10 22H2 x64 passed a real-model Notepad writing and Tab acceptance check.

Editor coverage, long-session stability, personalization, and full macOS feature parity are still being tested. The paid plan comparison currently describes the Mac release. Windows beta offers an in-app trial and free allowance.

Keep the installer honest

Verify. Then update.

Each installer has a published SHA-256 checksum. In PowerShell, run Get-FileHash .\Foretype-Setup-arm64-0.1.1.exe -Algorithm SHA256 (use the x64 filename for x64) and compare the result with the matching checksum file.

Foretype checks update signatures in the app. Use Settings → About to check manually or enable automatic update checks. Initial installer publisher signing remains a separate beta limitation.
